Boston Marriage
David Mamet
Opening Date:
March 25, 2005
Closing Date:
April 16, 2005
In a fashionable drawing room at the turn of the twentieth century, Anna believes she has secured a comfortable future for herself and her longtime companion Claire through the generosity of a wealthy gentleman admirer. But when Claire announces that she’s fallen for a younger woman, their carefully arranged lives descend into jealousy, deception, and outrageous complications. With a bewildered Scottish maid caught in the middle, an enormous emerald necklace, and even a séance, nothing goes quite according to plan. Directed by Terry Veal and featuring Rhonda Clark, Michelle Swink, and Sue Ellen Reiman, David Mamet’s Boston Marriage is a wickedly witty, Oscar Wilde-inspired comedy of manners about love, money, and the art of getting one’s way.
