Production Notes

Fourth production, January 13–February 4, 2006; directed by Rhonda Clark at Stage Center Arena Theater. Original cast explicitly identifies Mike Waugh as Angus, Steve Vann as Morgan, Corey Whaley as Miles; contrary supplemental attribution “Morgan / Angus” to Vann is incorrect. Set in Ontario in 1972, the story follows WWII veterans Morgan and Angus; Angus suffered a head injury during the London Blitz and struggles with memory loss. Young actor Miles arrives to research farm life, then uses Morgan’s recurring story of their lives in a play, stirring suppressed memories. Inspired by Theatre Passe Muraille’s 1972 Farm Show project in Clinton, Ontario; The Drawer Boy premiered at Theatre Passe Muraille in 1999, directed by Miles Potter and featuring David Fox, both connected to The Farm Show. CST materials noted Time’s Ten Best Plays of 2001, four Dora Awards, and recognition as most produced play in US regional theatre in 2004.
