Production Notes
Artistic Director Rhonda Clark explained in the original CST page that the intimate arena at Stage Center suited Williams’ personal memory play, and that occasional classics could engage high school students and teachers. Director Terry Veal was also a high school drama teacher. Edmond glass artist Tim Brown of Artistic Glass Studio made glass animals, including breakable unicorns, for the production; the page advertised glassmaking demonstrations at the April 13 evening performance and a special April 18 matinee. The original page discusses Williams’ autobiographical inspirations and the play’s 1945 New York Drama Critics’ Circle award. Six original photographs survive: glass01.jpg (Erin Anderson and Scott Meek), glass02.jpg (Scott Meek), glass03.jpg (Rob Gallavan), glass04.jpg (Erin Anderson), glass05.jpg (Erin Anderson and Laurel Jaworsky), glass06.jpg (subjects not identified).
