Production Notes

A five-day Stage Center Presents special event, November 17–21, 1999, directed by Doobie Potter and starring Lee Meriwether as Lady Bracknell. Meriwether was Miss America 1955 and a television actor associated with Barnaby Jones. The production followed CST’s Season 15 celebrity engagement I Hate Hamlet with William Katt. Original cast credits spell Kelley Riha and Reneé Krapff; some captions differ. The original props credit spells Genger Gibson and set designer Lee Brasuell. A November 14 Oklahoman profile discussed Meriwether; a November 18 review, “Comedic Moments Shine Through Tedium of Earnest,” offered mixed criticism. Twelve archival images document the production, publicity and sets.
