Katie Forgette

Closing Date:

December 15, 2007

Christmas has brought the O'Conner women together in snowy Minnesota, but this holiday reunion is anything but peaceful. Following the death of the family patriarch, his widow, two daughters, and sister-in-law gather to sort through a lifetime of belongings—including memorabilia from his old movie theatre. As boxes are opened, family secrets emerge, arguments flare, and the women discover that the man they thought they knew may still have surprises in store. Directed by Terry Veal, Katie Forgette's heartfelt comedy explores family dysfunction, grief, romance, and new beginnings.

Production Notes

Presented November 23–December 15, 2007, as the holiday production, directed by Terry Veal. Original five-member cast: Laurel Jaworsky (Sarah), Jo Perryman (Liz), Kris Schinske (Martha), Donna Mackie (Aunt Margie), Kyle Watson (Dr. David Stevens). Supplemental research incorrectly substitutes Laurel Van Horn for Laurel Jaworsky and misidentifies Donna Mackie's character; original CST credits take precedence. Set during Christmas 1997 in a small Minnesota town, the comedy concerns a widow and her family sorting the possessions of her late husband, a World War II veteran and former revival movie theatre operator. Objects reveal secrets and reopen family tensions, alongside Irish wit, Catholic guilt, and new romance. Kyle Watson performed while also designing lighting and engineering sound. Cast sponsors: Larry and Leah Westmoreland. Special thanks: Tom Harrington, Marilyn Veal, David Perryman, CityRep, Jon Womastek, Doobie Potter, Seth Sanders. Fifteen original production photographs, credited to Rhonda Clark. No verified contemporary critical review or opening-night party sponsor was supplied.
